Mom came down with a brain tumor and the magical staff at the Royal Columbian Hospital removed it just fine! She’s 110 %. I was so moved by the whole ordeal I presented this to our neurosurgeon, Dr Heran. Awesome guy 😉

Whoa! It sure feels crazy updating this site, especially a wordpress site not for a client. Did you know I started this site around 2005-2006?
New Projects and Updates:
So I’m reading the 6000 page Ken Follett’s Pillars of the Earth. It’s a really, really good book and I’m about 2/3 through. I know they’ve make a TV series etc etc (which I close my eyes to) but for me, reading fiction (a rarity – though a growing interest), grants me the opporunty to stretch my visual storytelling database. I thought I’d share a sketch I’m working on, it’s a love-hate kind of thing me and this piece, it’s coming along:
I’m a pretty big fan of the cloud’s treatment, the random skeletal type connections, the warm/cool tones, flowing composition and some random structure smack dab in the middle…. hmphm
Everyone must do it I call this piece Sketching a Girl While Talking to Chris About the Stock Market…..
Should I even bother saying it’s a work-in-progress (WIP) ??? You can go straight to hell – conceptual time…. Ya… YOU
I recorded a whopping 1:25 hours of 100% commentaried Matt Vogt Painting Process. I would like to do these more and more. Yesterday night is when this took place. Now please note what you’ll witness is an artist warming up from a day or two painting break. It’s like training a muscle (not speaking from experience) but we achieved some interesting results despite staring art making doom directly in the face. Yes.
This is the part of the video that was intentionally depicted to show how an artist can get his butt kicked by his own work:
(it was getting shaky in there) And this?

- Color Picking
- ‘Sweet Tweaks’ to keep the flow going and never give up (seen middle image?)
- Using layer adjustments to our advantage
- A layered, yet committed (backward) approach
